Where to start, where to start?

So much to say, so little time. Isn’t that how it always works? I’ve given up the fight, but not in spirit. I am so exhausted all the time, but I don’t know what else to do. I’m coming to terms with that. Or at least I’m trying too.
I read a disturbing article a little while ago that a myspace friend posted. Actually I read a couple that he posted. I’ll provide links at the end of this. It seems the more I think the world sucks, but people are tying to fix it, the more I see others destroying it. How awful. It makes me want to try to get everyone’s attention even more, but then I remember that they don’t want to be woken up to what is going on today. I can’t understand how someone would want to continue to be blind to these things. I guess maybe the saying is true, Ignorace is bliss. If I were ignorant I don’t think I’d be happy, but it seems to work just fine for everyone else. You’re all lame. Really that is what it boils down too, or at least in my eyes.

Nobody wants to help, nobody wants to save the world. I give up trying to make you help me. If you want me to inform you I’ll be glad too. Let me know. Otherwise, I’m done. I’m not going to stress myself out anymore trying to make all you blind people see. Yes, I’ll still be writing, yes I’ll still show you the things I find interesting or appaling. No, I am not going to dedicate what little free time I have trying to make you people better or care. No I am not going to waste my life on people who don’t give a damn. I don’t know what else to do.
At least I know I am a part of the cure, a part of the revolution. You on the other hand are what is killing us. Don’t expect me to save you when you realize it.
I’d rather be looked down upon for caring than to not care and regret it in the end. That is to say I’d rather be me in the end than to be you. What a poor excuse for existance.

Journalistic Freedom

I’m sure [or at least I hope] I am not the only one who has heard about how the governments of every country are trying to surpress our journalistic freedoms. Some countries and some papers are not even allowed to go to press without the approval of their government. Reporters are being imprisoned and some even killed because of what they are writing, investigation, or even thinking about writing. Government is restricting our ability to get to news storys or even ask questions. Journalists are supposed to have free access to informants, witnesess, and so on, but they are being red-taped.
This is absurd. Maybe any paper that is actually worth reading should go underground, at least then they’d be able to have the Freedom of the Press that they are supposed to have. Also, what ever happened to freedom of speach? That seems to be going the way of chivalry [extinction].
I still believe we need to put together our own paper and revolt. We need to do something. I’m not getting any help, but there is no way I can do this myself. I am becoming desperate and aggravated at the same time. Why when I say the word help do you suddenly become deaf? I wished you believed half as much as I do, maybe then you’d buck up and do something.

Well here I am trying to do it. Why does it seem that it’s just me? All my “friends” are too busy, unconcerned, or just plain ignorant. How can you stand to live with yourselves. Maybe I am expecting too much, but honestly it is just human decency to try to help those less fortunate or those being ill treated.
I don’t get it. I never have and I probably never will. All the same, check out the links provided for some information on things that are going on, some causes and just some good websites to do research.

Talking bout a revolution….

Of all the things going on in the world, I want to add more to it. There is death, murder, abuse, rape, self-inflicted mutulation and so on and so forth going on every day by the millions. Yet, I-just me, want to do something about it. Yes, I know many people want to do something about it not just me. I mean I want a Revolution. Yes. Revolt against those who are doing us wrong! Why not?

There is no better time than the present. No one can do it but us. I know I want to make this world a better place, if even only slightly, for my children and their children to come.

Stand up.
Join a cause.
Be an activist.
Do something!
Be somebody.

Free Hugs!- How far is too far?

This morning at work I heard on the radio about a girl who was given two days detention for hugging her friends goodbye on Friday for the weekend. I did a little bit of research and found that this isn’t the first case. Children are getting punished for what the school calls violations of the PDA guidelines. Hugging your friends is not PDA. What is next? Children not being able to speak unless an adult speaks to them? Not being able to brush up against someone accidently in the hallway? It’s stupid.

So, I suggest celebrating Free Hug Day. This is going to be a peaceful protest agaisnt the rediculas PDA laws in schools. It’s not like these [specific] kids are making out or having sex in the hall ways!

The reason for this protest is to show that we, the parents/siblings/cousins/friends/relatives/etc, will not stand for what they are trying to do. How long will it be before the state trys to say that nobody is able to hug in public? Far-fetched? Maybe, but it could happen.

So remember, Free Hug Day, November 12! Hug everyone and anyone you see.

Politics-shmolitics

Politics, or any political view was never a big thing in my house when I was growing up. Honestly, I can’t ever remember it ever being talked about at all. I only remember one time my foster parents saying that they had to go vote. Silly.

I think the first time anything remotely policical came into play was when my brother and I started researching Anarchism. I’m sure most kids do it, or say it, believe in it, or pretend to at some point in their life, and I know for sure that almost any kid who listens to punk music will, we did. However, we weren’t going to just go with the flow because that is what our “music culture” did. We wanted the facts, if we were going to believe in this we needed to know why and what it would do for us.

Ultimately we could out-define a teacher or school authority on Anarchism, and yes, it had come to that a few times. Freedom of speech/press my ass. You don’t have the rights you were born with in highschool.

Now today, a good …. six or seven years out of high school I like to think of myself still as an Anarchist, however not like everyone else. I believe I made or invented my own form of Anarchism. Maybe that isn’t true to the “cause” or the definition, but that is okay with me. I don’t need to be defined by my political views, my parents never did. To this day I couldn’t tell you what they are Republican or otherwise.

However, when the day comes for me to raise children they will be politically aware. They have to be, not only in my views and the views of their father, but in all views that may or may not come into play in their lifetime, or the own children’s lifetime. I think it is important to understand politics, someday, like it or not, your/their/our generation will be the ones running the government [or lack there of] and the..world. We need to make more informed children, so that when we are old we don’t have to worry about who or what program will be taking care of us.

Karma sucks

I used to be a firm believer in Karma, if that is what you want to call it. I believed, and knew deep down, that the more good you did the more good would come back to you. Now, at [almost] age 25 I couldn’t think of something that is more bullshit. Maybe it is only true for those who already have everything they need, and in fact don’t need.

For a poor person to help others is a big deal, especially when it comes to money and matters like that, and yet, you get nothing in return except more debt notices. How come the rich can stay rich and yet I stay so damn poor? I’ve worked hard my whole life and it has amounted to nothing because I can barely survive. I struggle every day and all that happens in there is one more bill or one more unexpected problem to pop up. Just when I think things might be okay, things might be looking up- oh need two new tires AND some other do-dad for the car. Great, just what I need.

Maybe the only reason it doesn’t bother the rich when something happens that sets them back because nothing can really set them back. Money can fix anything, and in a hurry.

Don’t get me wrong, I hate money I really do. I just wish that it was easier on those of us who work our asses off to stay struggling. It isn’t fair. Then again, I guess life isn’t fair.
